The answer is to stop planning one course at a time. Two courses get scheduled together, with your own year mapped against them, so the weeks you already know are impossible are identified before they arrive rather than discovered inside them. For teachers that means September, report card season and observation fortnights are treated as fixed obstacles the coursework moves around, which is the difference between finishing this degree and abandoning it in November.

Applied projects should survive contact with your job
Every course finishes in something you could use at work, and that is the best feature of the program. It is also where students quietly under-deliver, producing something rubric-complete but hypothetical because inventing a scenario is faster than working with a real one.
Both things are achievable at once. A project built around a class you actually teach, a policy your school actually has, or a problem your department is actually arguing about satisfies the rubric just as well and leaves you with something to use on Monday. Making it genuinely usable also makes it easier to write, because the details are already in your head rather than being manufactured.
The dissertation in practice is still a committee process
It is shorter than a traditional dissertation and it is not a lighter version of one. A committee still exists, so does a proposal and so does a defense, and the bar has moved sideways rather than downward: your study must take on a genuine problem somewhere real and account for whatever shifted as a result.
Submit a conventional research thesis instead and it returns to you no matter how good it is, which is the single costliest error this program offers. Your term dates were set by somebody else
In July a five-week course is entirely pleasant. During the opening month of term it is brutal. Your employer's calendar and your program's calendar were set without reference to one another, and they run into each other on a schedule you can predict, which is the one useful thing about it.
Which is why the timetable question is settled before anybody discusses the coursework. Name the stretches of your year that cannot bend and the plan loads itself into the weeks either side. Do your specialists actually know education?
Yes, and matching is the point. The people assigned hold education degrees at master's or doctoral level, a number of them have run classrooms themselves, and some have marked submissions of this kind from the other side. Standards-aligned assignments are difficult to fake, because a scorer is hunting a specific demonstration rather than a good argument.
How do I survive a five-week course in September?
Accept early that September will produce very little and move the work into July and October instead. Doing that requires the schedule to exist before the course opens, hence the question about your term dates in the first message. Distributing effort evenly over the five weeks is what defeats most teachers.
What makes a dissertation in practice different?
One takes a live problem inside a working organisation, applies an intervention the literature already supports, and measures the result. The other produces knowledge nobody previously had. Deliver the wrong species and it comes back irrespective of quality, and the bill is paid in terms rather than in marks.
Could you look only at my references?
