8-WEEK SESSIONS — CHAMBERLAIN UNIVERSITY

Chamberlain, at sprint speed.

Eight-week sessions mean there is no slow start — week one is already graded work, and clinical documentation runs in parallel. We compress the planning so the sprint is survivable.

Where it gets heavy — and what we carry.

Coached with you by a specialist who works in this program every term. You review and approve everything before it is submitted.

01 No ramp-up week Week one counts. We build the whole eight-week map before the session opens so nothing is discovered late.
02 Clinical hours alongside coursework Placement, hour logs and course deadlines at once. We run the logistics while you focus on the patients.
03 MSN specialty projects Practicum deliverables and evidence-based project pieces stack in weeks 5–8. We stage them earlier on purpose.
"Eight weeks felt impossible with two kids. Mapped out properly, it was just busy — not impossible."

BEFORE YOU ASK US

How Chamberlain University actually runs.

How far ahead should a clinical site be arranged?

Earlier than the course calendar suggests, and for nurse practitioner tracks that means months rather than weeks. The paperwork chain runs through your school, the site and often a third party, and any one of them can stall it. Students who start a term without a confirmed site are usually the ones who end up deferring the course.

What grade counts as a pass in a nursing course?

Higher than in most disciplines. Nursing programs commonly set the passing threshold at a C or a specific percentage rather than the D that would pass elsewhere, and some courses require a separate pass on the clinical component regardless of the written mark. Find the exact figure in your handbook, because it changes what a borderline assignment is worth.

How many times may I repeat a course?

There is a limit and it is usually low, often expressed both per course and across the whole program. Exceeding it can end an enrolment rather than merely delay it, which makes a first attempt worth protecting properly. Anyone approaching that boundary should be talking to an advisor before the attempt, not after the result.

What does a failed clinical course do to my sequence?

It usually costs more than one course, because clinical courses are prerequisites for what follows and run only in certain sessions. A single repeat can push graduation by a full sequence rather than by eight weeks. Ask your advisor to map the knock-on effect explicitly, since the calendar consequence is rarely obvious from the catalogue.

Are there breaks between sessions?

Short ones, and considerably shorter than the semester breaks people remember from an undergraduate degree. Compressed sessions run back to back through most of the year, so the recovery time you are planning around may be a single week. Look at the academic calendar before committing to consecutive sessions rather than assuming a pause exists.
